Vitas Gerulaitis

Vitas Gerulaitis was an American professional tennis player who was born on July 26, 1954, in Brooklyn, New York. He had a successful career on the ATP tour, winning a total of 25 singles titles and 8 doubles titles.

Gerulaitis turned professional in 1971 and quickly established himself as a top player on the tour. He won his first ATP Tour singles title at the 1975 Memphis Open, defeating Bjorn Borg in the final. He went on to win a total of 25 singles titles during his career, including the 1977 Australian Open, where he defeated John Lloyd in the final.

Gerulaitis was known for his flashy style of play and his strong serve and volley game. He was a popular player among fans and was known for his outgoing personality and sense of humor.
